1 Frozen pre-made pastry dish
(sweetened preferred)
1 tin of condensed milk (don't use any can which has easy-open part.
Can must be solid for cooking purposes)
2 Bananas. A packet cakemix of Cheesecake for the topping (eg. Whitewing's)-
this is cheats ways OR made a plain cheesecake filling for the topping
about 3 large cups worth. Chocolate - for decoration only |
1. Using a large saucepan or boiler,
place can inside and fill with water so there is 2 or 3 inches of water
over the can.
2. Boil can for 2 1/2 hours- ALWAYS check that the water is way over can.
Turn can occasionally.
3. Remove can and leave to cool down, DON'T open while boiling hot-
contents will give you a nasty burn if not careful.
4. Blind bake pastry dish as instruction on packet (if no instruction-
until cooked with a golden look to it)and let cool.
5. Open condensed milk tins and scoop the very thick toffee into pastry
dish.
6. Cut banana into slices and place on top of toffee.
7. Make Cheesecake filling as per instructions on packet (or your own
cheesecake filling recipe).
8. Put Cheesecake filling on top of banana slices - remember to smooth it
evenly.
9. Add chocolate for decoration - by crunching it into flakes or you could
do fancy swirls or twists, it up to you.
10. Place in fridge for at least 1 hour for setting- (this is needed for
the cheesecake filling to set).
11. Done! Now enjoy. |
